So, I went out into the world yesterday. And not into the staid environs of my home town. No, I ventured into New Orleans to meet with a formerly via-internet-only acquaintance who was there for a conference. (I work remotely with lots of people I’ve never met in the flesh.) He didn’t have a lot of time, so we had café au lait and beignets at Café du Monde in the French Quarter. My husband and I made it to one used book store before the meeting, but it was pretty disappointing. We’ll have to make another trip to visit the other, very highly recommended one. Now we have an excuse to go out and be somewhat social again in the near future.
We also stopped in the ‘burbs at Cuban Restaurant for dinner. I prefer Country Flame (also but less obviously a Cuban restaurant) in the Quarter, but Cuban husband likes the one in the ‘burbs better.
After our day of debauchery (ha!), we returned home to this poor, abandoned-for-a-whole-day kitty.
Moral of the story? My meds are working, and that’s pretty boring.
